Who We Are
Ms. Torie Goodwin and Dr. Lenese Stephens established and funded GoodHope Foundation in February 2020 because of their desire to give back and support others around them. Both women believe in encouraging and supporting higher education and being change agents within social justice reform. We, through the Foundation, hope to support individuals through the means of enhancing their quality of life with the source of education and change.
Both are extraordinary women who have endured many setbacks in securing their own educational background. There is a great desire to help others through social engagement extending back to their high school years (T.C. Williams High School, “Remember the Titans”) where both held the Senior Class President position during their Senior year. During their high school tenure both gained exposure to leadership and discovered the meaning of leadership being based in the method of providing resources, offering assistance, being a part of a team, uplifting, encouraging others, fostering and cultivating confidence/self-esteem, sharing their personal knowledge, skills and abilities with others. As prominent women in their community, they both are rooted in their spiritual practices and connected to their respective churches in Northern VA and Baltimore, MD.
They both have a place in their heart for the hard working, noble and courageous people wanting to further or advance themselves.
